Ruger reveals strict rules before letting girls dance with him on stage

Nigerian Afrobeats star Ruger, whose real name is Michael Adebayo Olayinka, has opened up about the careful steps he and his team take before allowing any female fan to join him on stage. Speaking during an interview on the Zero Conditions Podcast, Ruger explained that only women who are 21 years old and above are allowed to dance with him during his live performances.

Ruger’s statement comes after he was criticized for touching his female fans on stage. He made it clear that this type of stage act is common among many artists, and he is not the only one doing it. “I’m not the first to do it; lots of artists do it, maybe because it’s Ruger,” he said during the interview.

To avoid any issues, Ruger shared that his team checks the ID cards of female fans before they are allowed on stage. This strict rule is followed to make sure only adults are involved in the performance. He firmly said that no one under 21 is allowed to participate in such acts during his shows.

In addition to explaining the rules for his performances, Ruger also spoke about how he prepares for his tours. He said his mind, body, and spirit must be in the right place before going on stage. Before his American tour, Ruger said he would run four times at Eko Atlantic, then head home, eat well, and rest properly. These routines help him stay energetic and focused during performances.

Ruger also revealed his spiritual side, saying that he prays and fasts before his shows to get spiritually ready. As a Christian, he always starts his stage performance with a prayer. He believes these preparations are just as important as rehearsals.

He explained that dancing with female fans is just a way of celebrating and expressing joy, and it doesn’t mean he’s a bad person. Ruger wants fans to know that even though he’s an entertainer, he still takes his spiritual life seriously and tries to keep everything in balance.
