Nigerian singer Skales, whose real name is Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, is enjoying a fresh start as his 2015 hit song Shake Body goes viral again. This new wave of popularity came after Barcelona’s teenage star Lamine Yamal posted a viral dance video to the track.
Skales took to social media to share his excitement and asked fans to let him enjoy this special moment without harsh comparisons. He thanked God for the renewed success and encouraged his fellow artists and supporters to work together for even bigger achievements.
On his X (formerly Twitter) page, Skales wrote, “I feel like my life just restarted again … I’m nothing but a learner, please allow me to enjoy this moment without disrespecting anyone who has achieved way more than me … God is the greatest … let’s grow together y’all.”
Over the weekend, Skales met Lamine Yamal after Barcelona’s thrilling 3-2 win against Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final held at Sevilla’s Estadio La Cartuja. He also met Yamal’s mother during the visit.
The renewed interest in Shake Body was sparked by viral videos of Spanish football stars Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams, and Samu Omorodion dancing to Skales’ hit, bringing the song back to the spotlight years after its 2015 release.
