Samklef Questions Fight for Mohbad as Father Remains Silent

Nigerian music producer Samklef has voiced deep frustration over what he describes as a lack of support from both the music industry and the family of late singer Mohbad, despite his early efforts to seek justice in the highly controversial case. In a new video, Samklef questioned why he should continue advocating for justice when Mohbad’s own father remains silent on the issue.

Samklef’s statement comes amid growing tension between him and controversial social media activist Verydarkman. Addressing rumours that ₦20 million was paid to Verydarkman to gain access to a leaked celebrity group chat allegedly connected to Mohbad’s case, Samklef clarified that the information was leaked by someone from within the group, not purchased.

He stated:

“Verydarkman did not pay anybody ₦20 million to get information regarding the group chat. The person who leaked it was already inside the group.”

Samklef then asked a critical question:

“If the father of Mohbad is quiet, why should I be fighting? I don’t have any personal interest in this case. Why should I be crying more than the bereaved?”

He expressed dismay over being insulted online despite his genuine desire to help. According to him, he never sought recognition or reward but has faced backlash from within the industry, even as the judiciary declared Naira Marley and Sam Larry free of wrongdoing.

“How would you feel if you were being insulted for doing the right thing? I sat down and thought, why are we even fighting? The family doesn’t appreciate the efforts. Did you see me complaining when the court said Naira Marley and Sam Larry were free?”

Samklef, who was once at the center of social media conversations surrounding Mohbad’s mysterious death, noted that the ongoing fighting and online wars are achieving nothing. He believes Mohbad’s soul remains unrested, especially as the late singer has yet to be buried properly.

He concluded with a heartfelt appeal:

“Revenge is not the solution. It only keeps dragging pain. Mohbad’s soul is not at peace. Everyone should cease fire and stop fighting.”

Question:
Why is Samklef no longer actively seeking justice for Mohbad?
Samklef says he feels unappreciated and questions why he should fight when Mohbad’s father remains silent. He believes the constant fighting won’t bring peace to Mohbad’s soul.

Tip:
When fighting for justice, it’s important to align efforts with those directly affected. Samklef’s frustration highlights the emotional toll of advocacy in public tragedies and the need for unity and clarity from families involved.
