Rema’s ‘Charm’ Goes Platinum in France as Global Recognition Grows
Afrobeats sensation Rema has scored another international win as his popular track ‘Charm’ has officially been certified platinum in France. The certification, granted by SNEP, the country’s official music authority, marks another major career milestone for the Nigerian artist.
‘Charm’, which appeared on Rema’s debut album ‘Rave & Roses’, now becomes his third single to go platinum in France, following earlier hits ‘Soundgasm’ and ‘Dumebi’. This latest certification also gives him a total of four SNEP honors, including the diamond-certified global hit ‘Calm Down’, which is one of only nine songs to receive such a distinction in French music history.
This achievement strengthens Rema’s reputation as one of the top global ambassadors of Afrobeats, as he now ranks as one of the most decorated Nigerian artists in France—second only to Burna Boy, who currently holds nine certifications in the country.
Rema’s momentum is far from slowing down. As part of his ongoing ‘HEIS’ world tour, he is scheduled to headline the prestigious 20,000-seat Accor Arena in Paris, a venue that has hosted some of the biggest stars in the world. His tour has already seen him grace legendary stages, including Madison Square Garden in New York.
The year 2025 continues to be a landmark one for Rema. He recently earned his first Grammy nomination for Best Global Album with his sophomore release ‘HEIS’. Additionally, he is nominated for Best International Act at the 2025 BET Awards and bagged two wins at the 17th Headies Awards—Best Afrobeats Album and Best Album.
As Rema’s music gains more recognition across continents, his rise illustrates the global reach of Afrobeats and its growing impact in Europe and beyond. With each milestone, Rema isn’t just collecting trophies—he’s rewriting what’s possible for African music on the international stage.
