Nollywood Actor Odira Nwobu Dies in South Africa After Hypertensive Episode

Nigerian actor and content creator Odira Nwobu has passed away while in South Africa, leaving fans and colleagues in shock. The death was confirmed by Emeka Rollas, President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), who told BBC Igbo, “It is true that Odira Nwobu is dead. He died in South Africa.”

Reports indicate that Nwobu had traveled to South Africa for a performance alongside popular comedian Chibuike Gabriel, also known as Untouchable. Fellow actor Ajemba Stanley Chibueze, popularly called Stanley Ontop, revealed that Nwobu returned to his hotel on Sunday morning after a night out and suffered a hypertensive episode due to high blood pressure. He reportedly passed away shortly afterward.

Before the incident, a video surfaced online showing Nwobu enjoying himself at a nightclub, with many fans noting that he appeared happy and showed no signs of distress. His sudden death has prompted an outpouring of grief from fans and colleagues across the Nigerian entertainment industry.
