Natasha Osawaru has congratulated her husband, Nigerian music icon 2Baba, after he earned a major global recognition. In a heartfelt message shared on social media, she praised him for making Nigeria proud and described him as a living legend whose success continues to inspire many people.
This comes after Billboard released its ranking of the 50 best Afrobeats songs of all time. 2Baba topped the list with his timeless classic African Queen, which was voted the greatest Afrobeats track ever recorded. The honour sparked excitement among music lovers and reinforced the singer’s status as one of the most influential artistes on the continent.
Reacting to the news, Natasha celebrated her husband’s talent and long-lasting impact. She hailed him as not only a brilliant musician, but also a blessing to all Nigerians. According to her, 2Baba’s latest milestone is another reminder of how much he has contributed to the growth of African music and how proud he has made the country.
“Congratulations my husband. Ain’t nobody badder you. You are a living legend and a blessing to all of us. You’ve made Nigeria proud. I salute you,” she wrote.
Billboard’s list, unveiled on August 20, 2025, also featured Wizkid’s Ojuelegba in second place and Flavour’s Nwa Baby (Ashawo Remix) in third. The fourth spot was taken by Rema’s Calm Down, while Wizkid and Tems’ Essence came in at number five.
Other notable entries in the top 10 were CKay’s Love Nwantiti, D’banj’s Oliver Twist, Davido’s Fall, Burna Boy’s Ye, and P-Square’s Chop My Money Remix. Elsewhere on the list, Styl-Plus’ Olufunmi was ranked 11th, followed by 9ice’s Gongo Aso in 12th place.
Yemi Alade emerged as the highest-ranked female artiste on the list, with her hit Johnny coming in at number 15. Wande Coal, Fuse ODG, Sarkodie, and Phyno also claimed places within the top 20.
Why are fans celebrating this list so much? Many believe that 2Baba’s number one spot is a well-deserved recognition of his long-standing contribution to Afrobeats and his role in promoting Nigerian music to the world.
