Iyabo Ojo Shares Why She Changed Her Mind About Priscilla’s Baby Shower

Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo has opened up about the emotional reason behind her decision to hold a baby shower for her daughter, Priscilla Ojo Mkambala. According to the actress, she had no plans for a baby shower at first, but her heart changed because of faith, love, and the advice of a dear friend.

During the baby shower celebration held on Sunday, Iyabo said she had already done so much for her daughter since her wedding started in February. She felt another big event would be too much, especially with critics always watching online.

“I didn’t want a baby shower,” Iyabo confessed. “We’ve been celebrating since February. The wedding was already long, and I just wanted things to be quiet.”

But all of that changed when her close friend and fellow actress, Lola Alao, stepped in. Lola encouraged her to go ahead with the shower, and because of their close bond, Iyabo found it hard to say no.

“Aunty Lola is someone I cannot say no to,” she said emotionally. “When she said we would do a baby shower, I agreed.”

Iyabo later realized the celebration was more than just a party—it was a way to thank God for the blessing of her daughter’s pregnancy. She told Priscilla during the event, “This pregnancy is a blessing from God. You don’t need to hide it. Live your life without fear.”

She also used the moment to speak boldly to those criticizing her family online. “Anyone who wishes evil for another person’s child will be the one to face it,” she said. “I have always fought for what is right—for men, women, and children. If anyone gathers to plan evil, God will scatter them.”

Iyabo ended her speech by saying she has never sought personal gain from her activism. She stated clearly, “Unless I have ever collected money for it, every evil plan against me will fail.”

The baby shower was full of prayers, joy, and strong emotions. It marked a new chapter for Priscilla and the Ojo family, who continue to stand strong amid both support and criticism.
