Falz Says Unity Is the Only Way Africa Can Grow
Nigerian rapper and activist Falz has shared his thoughts on how Africa can truly move forward. In a recent interview with Naija FM, he said that the key to progress is having a strong sense of community.
Falz, known for using music to speak on social issues, explained that the message behind his new project The Feast is all about unity. He believes that the common “every man for himself” attitude in Nigeria and across Africa is holding people back.
He said, “The message I’m pushing across is ‘community’. We need a sense of community because the mentality we have in this country and in Africa is the ‘every man for himself’ one, and it’s not good.”
The rapper stressed that this selfish mindset is not only seen in leaders, but also in regular people. According to him, this way of thinking has created a gap between those in power and the people they are supposed to serve.
Falz added that African leaders often care only about their own families and not the larger population. This, he believes, sets a bad example for others to follow and keeps the continent from developing.
He encouraged Africans to start thinking more about the group and less about individual gain. In his view, building a strong community spirit can lead to better leadership, better policies, and real change.
Falz hopes that his new project, The Feast, will start conversations and inspire people to shift their mindset. Through his music, he wants to remind Africans that progress comes when people work together, not when they only think of themselves.
Known for his bold views, Falz continues to use his platform to speak the truth and call for a better society.
