Davido Responds as 13-Year-Old Girl Makes Fresh DNA Test Demand
Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has responded strongly after a 13-year-old Nigerian girl, Anu Adeleke, publicly renewed calls for a DNA test to confirm her paternity. The request has revived a long-running and emotional controversy that has followed the singer for several years and once again sparked intense debate across social media platforms.
The teenager shared her appeal online, explaining that she has lived with uncertainty about her identity for years. She said the unresolved paternity issue has taken a toll on her mental health and sense of belonging, especially as the matter continues to be discussed publicly. Her message quickly gained attention, drawing sympathy from some users and criticism from others.
Davido reacted swiftly on X, formerly Twitter, firmly denying the claim that he is the girl’s father. He stated that he had already undergone multiple DNA tests in the past, all of which reportedly showed that he is not biologically related to the child. According to the singer, as many as five DNA tests were carried out at different hospitals, and all returned negative results.
The singer further accused the girl’s mother of deliberately keeping the controversy alive. He described the renewed demand for a DNA test as malicious and claimed it was aimed at damaging his reputation. Davido also suggested that legal action should be taken against the woman for allegedly spreading false information over the years.
However, supporters and representatives of the girl’s mother strongly disputed Davido’s version of events. They claimed that only one DNA test was conducted several years ago and alleged that the process was flawed. According to them, the test was not properly supervised and did not meet acceptable medical standards.
The mother’s side is now demanding a fresh DNA test, insisting that it should be conducted transparently at a reputable medical facility agreed upon by both parties. They argue that a new test would finally put the issue to rest and bring clarity to the child, who has been at the centre of the public dispute.
The controversy has been further fuelled by leaked chats, old videos, and conflicting accounts circulating online. These materials have divided public opinion, with some Nigerians backing Davido’s position and others calling for a fresh test in the interest of fairness and the child’s emotional well-being.
Many observers have raised concerns about the impact of the prolonged public battle on a minor. They argue that paternity disputes involving children should be handled privately and sensitively. As the situation continues to unfold, calls are growing for restraint from all parties and for the matter to be resolved in a way that protects the dignity and best interests of the child above social media drama.
