Buhari Reveals He Relies on Rental Income for Financial Support

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has shared that he financially sustains himself through rental income from one of his properties in Kaduna State. This revelation highlights his commitment to transparency and accountability in public office.

During an All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus meeting held on January 25 at the Presidential Banquet Hall in Katsina State’s Government House, Buhari opened up about his finances and governance philosophy. Speaking in Hausa, the former president disclosed that he owns only three properties: one in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, and two in Kaduna State.

Buhari explained that one of his Kaduna properties is rented out, and the income generated from the rental helps cover his daily living expenses. This statement adds to his image of simplicity and frugality, contrasting with the often lavish lifestyles associated with public figures.

The former president’s comments come at a time when discussions on transparency and accountability in public office continue to gain prominence. By sharing this aspect of his personal finances, Buhari aims to set an example for future leaders to follow
