Mr P Moves Birthday Celebration Date Amid Ongoing Rift With Twin Brother Rudeboy

Nigerian singer Mr P has announced that he will no longer celebrate his birthday on November 18, the date he shares with his twin brother Rudeboy, as their long-running feud continues.

The artist, one half of the now-defunct duo P-Square, revealed in a post on X that he has chosen November 30 as his new personal celebration date. He also asked fans and well-wishers not to send him birthday messages or gifts on the original date.

Describing the move as a personal decision, Mr P’s announcement reflects the ongoing tension between the twin brothers, whose relationship has remained strained since the group split in 2017.

The breakup of P-Square marked the end of one of Nigeria’s most successful music partnerships, despite occasional reunions that briefly raised hopes among fans for a lasting reconciliation.

Mr P’s decision to distance himself from their shared birthday is seen by many as a symbolic step that highlights how deep the rift between the brothers has become.

Fans reacted with mixed emotions, with some expressing sadness over the continued fallout, while others responded with humour or support for his decision to move forward independently.

So far, Rudeboy and their elder brother Jude Okoye have not publicly responded to the development.

Despite the change in celebration date, November 18 remains Mr P’s official birth date. However, his decision signals a desire to create a separate identity away from his twin, both personally and professionally.
