First Lady Sen. Oluremi Tinubu assures Nigerians that the current challenges will soon be overcome with the implementation of the right policies by the Federal Government. She delivers this message during a meeting with Governors’ Wives as part of her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) project.
During the gathering at the State House, Mrs. Tinubu emphasizes that 2024 holds promises of peace, progress, prosperity, and greater achievements for all Nigerians. She acknowledges the efforts of the governors’ wives in addressing the needs of the vulnerable and encourages them to continue their dedicated work.
Highlighting the objectives of the RHI, Mrs. Tinubu announces plans for the Women Agricultural Support Programme (WASP), which aims to empower farmers in the South East Zone. Under this initiative, 20 farmers from each of the five states will receive financial support, with additional assistance provided by the National Agricultural Land Development Authority.
Furthermore, Mrs. Tinubu reveals her intention to launch the “Young Farmers Club” in public schools nationwide, promoting farming among the youth. Schools with exemplary farms will be rewarded with prizes such as renovations, ICT equipment, and upgrades to school libraries.
The RHI also includes initiatives like the “Every Home a Garden” competition, where the best garden owner stands to win a substantial cash prize. Mrs. Tinubu urges the governors’ wives to provide updates on the progress of these programs.
In addition to agricultural support, the RHI focuses on economic empowerment, health, and social investment, reflecting Mrs. Tinubu’s commitment to addressing various aspects of societal development. Through these initiatives, she aims to bring hope and positive change to communities across Nigeria.
