Kano Hisbah arrests personnel for alleged sexual exploitation
Operatives of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Sharia Police, has arrested a constabulary official, one Basiru in Rumawa, Ungogo Local Government Area of the state over alleged sexual exploitation.
An official of the Hisbah, who spoke on condition of anonymity said Basiru and his accomplice, one Jamilu, now at large, occupied an apartment in Rumawa area where they carried out their ungodly activities.
He said community members in Rumawa raised that alarm about their activities which led to the arrest of Basiru and a teenage female victim, whose relatives had earlier declared missing.
A guardian of the victim, Usman Ahmad said his daughter suddenly went missing but was later found in custody of the suspect.
“They, (Basiru and Jamilu) built the house in Rumawa area and used it for sexual exploitation of underage young girls and other victims.
“Basiru was arrested and his friend Jamilu, who is the owner of the house is now at large”, Ahmad said.
It was, however, gathered that the matter had been transferred to a police station in the neighbourhood for further investigation.
