A’Ibom student arrested for killing colleague, 54 others for cultism
Men of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command have arrested a student of West Itam Secondary School, Uyo, David Okon, for allegedly killing his colleague, Solomon Bassey during a cult clash between SS2 and SS3 pupils of the school.
The command also arrested 54 suspected cultists in different locations for terrorizing residents of the state.
The State police Public Relations Officer, Odiko Macdon, on Tuesday said 31 of the suspects were arrested following the deployment of operatives by the Commissioner of Police, Andrew Amiengheme.
The Commissioner of Police, while decrying the level of moral decadence in some schools and the society, called on parents to inculcate family values in their children.
He warned that henceforth, the prescription order of the state government would be enforced to the letter.
