Minister Promises Compensation For Destroyed Vehicles, Others
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Malam Muhammadu Bello, has advised residents of Apo Mechanic village, Gudu in Abuja Municipal Area Council to live together in peace. The minister promised to compensate the victims of the violence in the area in which about 29 vehicles were destroyed or vandalised. Bello stated this on Thursday when he paid a fact finding visit to Apo Mechanic village, as well as Dutsen Alhaji, in the Bwari Local Government Area, where violence broke out for two days leading to the death of about nine persons. Also speaking at the event, the Minister of State, FCT, Dr Ramatu Aliyu, urged the residents of Apo to eschew further violence and give peace a chance. Responding, the Chairman, Apo Traders Association, Mr John Chimeze, disclosed that vehicles and properties worth over N200m were destroyed by the hoodlums.
