Zubby Michael Heads to Cotonou for Birthday Bash Amid Assault Scandal and AGN Probe

Popular Nollywood actor Zubby Michael is set to celebrate his birthday outside Nigeria for the first time, even as serious allegations and an official probe cast a shadow over the occasion. The actor will mark his birthday on June 13 in Cotonou, Benin Republic, at a lavish event hosted by Macro Lady Boss at Macro Lounge.

The news was shared online by influencer Tunde Ednut, who posted the event flyer and highlighted that several well-known DJs would be performing at the party. For Zubby Michael, this celebration in Cotonou is a milestone—but not without controversy.

The birthday festivities come just days after fellow actor Godwin Nnadiekwe accused Zubby of physically assaulting him. According to Nnadiekwe, the incident resulted in internal injuries after Zubby allegedly kicked him in the chest. A video of the incident has been circulating online, with Nnadiekwe claiming he paid for his own medical treatment and calling for justice.

In response to the outcry, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) announced that they are investigating the matter and will ensure the issue is addressed appropriately. However, this hasn’t stopped fans from voicing their concerns and criticism.

Many social media users questioned whether Zubby Michael should be celebrating while someone else is reportedly suffering physical pain. Some expressed disbelief at the seeming lack of consequences so far, while others warned partygoers in Cotonou to be cautious during the actor’s birthday bash.

Comments like “Hope justice is served, he’s enjoying birthday while someone is enduring internal bleeding” and “Make another fan no go collect beating for Cotonou” highlight the ongoing tension.

Despite the uproar, some fans still sent birthday wishes and praised Cotonou as a peaceful and beautiful place to celebrate. Others, however, couldn’t ignore the allegations hanging over Zubby’s name.
