Wizkid and Reekado Banks Reunite Years After Fallout
Nigerian music stars Wizkid and Reekado Banks have finally reconciled, ending their long-standing feud that began in 2020. The two were recently spotted together, marking their first public appearance side by side in years.
Their fallout began in 2020 when Wizkid called out Reekado Banks on social media, referring to him as a “clout animal.” The controversy started when Reekado announced the release of his single Omo Ologo, which featured Wizkid, during the height of the EndSARS protests. Wizkid, who was actively speaking out against police brutality at the time, criticized Reekado’s timing, believing it was inappropriate to promote music amid the nationwide unrest.
In response to Reekado’s post, Wizkid wrote, “Delete this dude. I can’t believe you are even doing this at a time like this. Old song! #EndSARS fool!” His harsh words sparked a major fallout between the two artists, leading to years of silence and distance.
However, it appears they have now moved past their differences. On Tuesday, Wizkid visited Reekado Banks’ newly launched lounge in Lagos, signaling a possible reconciliation. A viral video circulating on social media captured the moment the two dined together at a Lagos restaurant, alongside rapper Shallipopi.
Their reunion has sparked excitement among fans, who are hopeful that the once-close collaborators might work together again soon.
