Victor Osimhen to Be Unveiled by Galatasaray After €75m Transfer Deal

Victor Osimhen is set to officially join Turkish football club Galatasaray this week after the completion of a €75 million transfer deal from Italian side Napoli. The long-anticipated move has excited fans in Istanbul, who are looking forward to welcoming the Nigerian striker with a grand ceremony.

According to Turkish news outlet Fanatik, Galatasaray’s vice president, Abdullah Kavukcu, is scheduled to travel to Italy on Tuesday or Wednesday to finalise the deal. Once the paperwork is completed, Kavukcu is expected to return to Turkey with Osimhen by his side. The club is planning to introduce the striker during a special signing event on Saturday, August 2, ahead of their match against Lazio.

Osimhen’s move to Galatasaray is one of the biggest in the club’s history. The deal includes an initial €40 million payment to Napoli, followed by an additional €35 million to be paid by the end of 2026. The 26-year-old striker is expected to earn a salary of €16 million per year with his new team, the Yellow-Reds. This move marks a major milestone in his career and highlights Galatasaray’s ambition to strengthen their squad.

Interestingly, the article stated that Osimhen played 41 matches and scored 37 goals for Galatasaray last season, but this appears to be an error, as the striker was still at Napoli during that period. Despite this, his past performance at Napoli has made him one of the most sought-after strikers in the world.

In a video shared on a Nigerian YouTube channel, Osimhen spoke about his journey and the struggles he faced growing up in Lagos. He shared that his entire family—seven children and two parents—lived in a single room. He emphasized how difficult life was in the neighborhood where he was raised. “Most people who know me know I would have succeeded even without football. But where I came from was tough,” he said.

Osimhen also revealed that during his early years, he sometimes had to pause his football dreams to do jobs like fetching and carrying water to support his family. However, his passion for the game never faded. “I had to stop playing football for a while just to survive. But deep down, I knew football was my purpose,” he added.

Why is Osimhen’s story so inspiring to fans?
Osimhen’s story resonates with many because it illustrates the remarkable impact of determination on an individual. From living in poverty to becoming one of the world’s most expensive strikers, his rise offers hope to young people in similar situations that success is attainable through hard work.

Despite his fame and international recognition, Osimhen remains humble. He has openly shared how fame can sometimes be overwhelming. In an interview posted on X by Instablog, he mentioned missing his daughter’s first public event because of his popularity. “Fame is boring. Sometimes, you want to go out and do normal things, but you can’t,” he explained.

Even with security around him, he said he feels most comfortable being among everyday people. “If I have my security with me, I feel okay. I don’t care about status. I just want to live my life freely,” he concluded. His words reflect a grounded personality who values his roots and prefers a simple lifestyle despite his success.
