Tottenham Target Stuttgart Midfielder Angelo Stiller Valued at £38.9m
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a move for Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller as they look to strengthen their midfield options for the long term. The 24-year-old has been attracting attention in Germany and could become Spurs’ next big signing.
The North London club already made a major midfield addition this summer by bringing in Joao Palhinha on loan, a deal that could be made permanent. His arrival has pushed Yves Bissouma out of the picture after a disappointing season. With Bissouma’s contract set to expire next summer, Tottenham may look to sell him before January to avoid losing him for free.
Even with Palhinha, Pape Matar Sarr, and young talent Archie Gray available, Spurs are believed to be exploring more depth in midfield. TEAMtalk reports that Stiller, who has impressed in the Bundesliga with Stuttgart, is now on their radar.
Stiller, a Bayern Munich academy graduate, has broken into the Germany national team over the last year, earning five caps. Standing at 6ft, he is known for his defensive qualities, technical strength, and passing range. His performances have made him one of the most promising holding midfielders in Germany.
The midfielder signed a new contract with Stuttgart in January, which means any deal will require significant money. Transfermarkt currently values him at £38.9 million, although actual market prices are usually higher than estimated values.
Stiller has already received praise from established German internationals. Teammate Joshua Kimmich described him and fellow youngster Aleksandar Pavlovic as “technically strong players with a good passing game who simply love to play football.” His hunger and confidence have made him stand out in competitive environments.
Stuttgart manager Sebastian Hoeness has also spoken highly of Stiller, praising his ability to adapt quickly at every stage of his career. Hoeness noted that the midfielder could become even better with stronger teammates and that his rise to the national team shows he has no limits.
For Tottenham, Stiller represents a potential long-term solution in defensive midfield, offering both defensive stability and technical ability. With his growing reputation in Germany, Spurs may need to act quickly if they want to secure his signature before other top European clubs make their move.
