Tinubu Says He Is President for All Nigerians Not a Sectional Leader

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed that he is not a sectional leader, but a president for all Nigerians. He stressed that his administration is focused on fairness, national unity, and inclusive development that touches all parts of the country.

Speaking through his verified X account on Monday, September 1, 2025, Tinubu said he took an oath to serve all Nigerians, not just a region or group. He explained that this oath guides the decisions and projects his government is carrying out nationwide. According to him, every bridge, road, rail, health, and power project under his administration is meant for all citizens.

His statement comes at a time when public debate continues on how federal allocations and infrastructure are shared across the country. Tinubu responded by pointing to key projects already taking place in different regions. He highlighted the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway in the South, the Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway in the North, the Port Harcourt–Maiduguri rail line in the East, and the Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Expressway in the Centre as proof of his government’s balanced development agenda.

“These are not local trophies but national assets,” Tinubu said, making it clear that his vision is not for a particular group but for the whole nation. He also noted that investments in healthcare, power, and jobs are spread across different states. He mentioned the 255MW power plant in Kaduna, new health centres, and light rail projects in Lagos, Ogun, Kano, and Kaduna as examples.

The President further cited the construction of important bridges in Onitsha and Bonny, oil exploration expansion in Bauchi and Gombe, and progress on the Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano gas pipeline as part of projects designed to serve all Nigerians equally.

Tinubu added that his Renewed Hope agenda is about people, not regions. “Every farmer who needs a road, every trader who needs power, every child who needs a school, every patient who needs care… this is who we are building for,” he said, stressing that governance must directly improve lives.

He described his leadership as the “Equity of Renewed Hope,” assuring Nigerians that no citizen or region will be treated as second class. Tinubu closed his message with a call for unity: “Together we will rise as one nation, one people, and one destiny.”
