Summer Walker Says She Wants to Move to Nigeria and Might Not Return to the US

American R&B singer Summer Walker has expressed a strong desire to visit and even relocate to Nigeria, saying she feels deeply connected to the country’s culture. In a recent interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra, the Grammy-nominated artist opened up about her love for Nigeria and her fear that she might not return to the United States if she ever visits.

“I want to go to Nigeria so bad,” Walker said during the interview. “But I’m scared because I know I won’t come back. My kids and I would be put up in the palace of an African king. I know it.”

The singer, who is a mother of three, didn’t hesitate to say that she would gladly become the third wife of an African king, adding that she’s “prepared and ready.” Her light-hearted yet sincere remarks showed just how much admiration she has for African traditions and lifestyle.

Walker also shared her excitement about Nigerian cuisine. She recently had her first taste of African food and said she absolutely loved it, praising its rich flavors and uniqueness. This added another layer to her growing interest in the West African country.

Although she initially planned to spend her 29th birthday in Nigeria earlier this year, the trip had to be cancelled due to her children falling ill. Despite that setback, Walker made it clear that visiting Nigeria is still high on her list, and she intends to make the trip soon.

Why does Summer Walker want to move to Nigeria?
According to the singer, Nigeria’s vibrant culture, food, and the idea of living a more traditional African lifestyle with her children are major attractions. She feels a deep sense of belonging, even though she has yet to visit.

Fans across the globe have reacted positively to her comments, with many Nigerians saying she would be welcomed warmly. If her dream of visiting Nigeria does come true, it could be the start of a new chapter for the artist who’s not afraid to embrace life outside Hollywood.

With this level of interest, it wouldn’t be surprising if Summer Walker’s next tour or vacation includes a long stay in Nigeria, perhaps even more than just a visit.
