Soludo Denies Consulting Native Doctor for 2025 Re-Election
Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has strongly denied rumours that he visited a native doctor to help his chances in the upcoming governorship election scheduled for November 8, 2025.
Some videos have been trending online, with claims that the governor consulted a native doctor for spiritual help ahead of the election. But Soludo, through his Press Secretary Christian Aburime, described the claims as completely false and misleading.
According to the statement, the video being circulated was not what it seemed. It was actually from an official government event held recently with content creators in Anambra. The meeting was meant to support the state’s creative economy and had nothing to do with any spiritual consultations.
The statement said the session was organised by Mazi Ejimofor Opara, the governor’s Special Assistant on New Media. During the event, one of the content creators acted out a native doctor skit as part of their performance. This comic act is common in Nigerian entertainment and was done to show their talent.
The governor’s team made it clear that the skit was just for fun and not an actual consultation. They were disappointed that some people would twist the video and spread false information to mislead others, especially for political reasons.
Soludo’s team added that he does not rely on spiritual consultations to win elections. Instead, he believes in the support of the people of Anambra based on the progress his government has made. They pointed to projects like the Solution Fun City as proof of his commitment to development.
The governor asked Ndi Anambra and the public to ignore the false reports and always verify any information they see online. He said his focus remains on building a better Anambra and he won’t be distracted by fake news and political tricks.
In conclusion, Soludo urged media houses and social media users to stop spreading the false video clip and to focus on facts, not lies. He promised to keep working for the people and deliver on his promise to make Anambra a peaceful and prosperous home.
