Regina Daniels Speaks Out As Police Confirm Charges Against Brother Sammy West
Popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has raised an alarm on social media after her brother, Sammy West, was arrested and detained by the police. This comes at a time when Regina and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, are already making headlines over reported issues in their marriage. The actress appeared emotional in a video where she questioned the reasons behind her brother’s continued detention.
According to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, Sammy West, whose real name is Samuel Ojeogwu, was arrested based on a petition filed against him. The police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, explained that the petition accused Sammy of criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying. She also said the police had invited him earlier for questioning, but he did not show up.
Because of this, the police obtained a valid arrest warrant and traveled to Lagos to take him into custody before transferring him to Abuja for further investigation. The police added that Sammy was charged to court on November 6 and that the court ordered him to be remanded until he meets the conditions of his bail.
Regina Daniels, in her video, said she has been emotionally distressed since the arrest. She tearfully begged for clarity, saying that she keeps hearing different updates every day about her brother’s case. She complained that despite her efforts, she had not been given a clear explanation as to why he had not been released.
At the same time, Regina and Senator Ned Nwoko have been in the news due to alleged marital problems. Reports claim that Regina accused her husband of domestic violence, while Ned Nwoko reportedly stated that he wants Regina to get professional help for what he described as struggles with drug misuse. Both sides have responded online, but the true cause of the conflict remains unclear.
