Rapper 2Shotz Opens Up on How Beverly Osu’s Allegations Destroyed His Life
Nigerian rapper William Orioha, better known by his stage name 2Shotz, has broken his silence on the painful impact of actress Beverly Osu’s assault allegations. The veteran rapper, who once dominated Nigeria’s hip-hop scene, revealed that the accusation not only damaged his career but also shattered his personal life in ways he never imagined.
Speaking as a guest on the Teju Babyface show, 2Shotz explained that the controversy began years before he got married. He recalled that Beverly Osu had featured in one of his music videos and later visited his home on several occasions. According to him, during one of their heated disagreements, he accidentally brushed her face, which she later labeled as assault. What seemed like a minor scuffle, he said, quickly snowballed into a damaging story that haunted him for years.
The rapper said the allegations spread like wildfire, destroying his reputation almost overnight. He lost performance bookings, brand endorsements, and industry support. The fallout was so severe that he even lost his home and the stability he had worked hard to build. For an artist who once enjoyed fame and success, the sudden downfall was both shocking and devastating.
Beyond his career, 2Shotz revealed that the controversy deeply affected his family life. He admitted that his marriage eventually collapsed under the weight of the scandal, and he became estranged from his daughter, whom he has never seen. This loss, he said, remains one of the most painful consequences of the accusations.
The emotional toll pushed him into a dark place. At one point, he confessed to contemplating suicide. He described how he once walked into water with the intent of ending it all but was rescued by friends before it was too late. Reflecting on that moment, he admitted that he was overwhelmed by the feeling of being torn apart by false perceptions and public judgment.
“I was accused of so many things that I really am not,” he said during the interview. “Everybody tore me apart. I wasn’t getting shows. I wasn’t getting deals. I lost my house. I lost my marriage. I lost my daughter. Everything went down. I almost killed myself.” His words painted a heartbreaking picture of how quickly a man’s life can unravel under the weight of an allegation.
2Shotz stressed that he is not a violent person and never intended to harm Beverly. He maintained that what happened was a misunderstanding blown out of proportion, yet it left scars that he continues to live with. He also alleged that his ex-wife later used the scandal against him, further deepening the damage to his life.
Today, the rapper says he is learning to move forward, but the pain of lost opportunities, broken relationships, and missed moments with his daughter remain a constant reminder of the ordeal. His story has sparked conversations about the long-lasting effects of allegations in the entertainment industry, particularly when public opinion moves faster than the truth.
