Portable warns he will arrest anyone who defames him

Popular Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, widely known as Portable, has issued a strong warning to the public, declaring that he will arrest anyone who defames him. The controversial artist made this statement in a viral video, shortly after facing his legal battle over alleged defamation.

The singer was recently arrested and remanded at the Oke Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin, Kwara State, over a petition filed by veteran fuji musician Akorede Saheed, better known as Saheed Osupa. Portable allegedly made defamatory statements about the music icon.

In the video, Portable did not hold back. He clearly stated that anyone who attempts to ruin his reputation with false claims or negative talk will face the full weight of the law. According to him, now that he has experienced what it feels like to receive a defamation charge, he will not hesitate to turn the tables on anyone who tries the same with him.

“Whoever talks bad about me or defames me will be arrested,” he said. “They have done it to me, and I will do it to anybody, too. There is no mercy.”

Portable’s statement comes after he was initially denied bail due to strict conditions set by the Upper Area Court in Ilorin. However, he was later granted bail after Saheed Osupa decided to withdraw his petition against him, leading to his release.

The Zazu crooner has been known for stirring controversy online, but this time, he appears to be taking a more serious tone regarding the use of defamatory language and its legal consequences.

His latest warning seems to be both a personal lesson and a public message — that defamation is a crime he will no longer tolerate, and anyone who crosses that line should be prepared to face arrest.
