Paul Okoye Criticizes Today’s Generation for Living Under Pressure

Award-winning Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has openly criticized the attitude and mindset of the younger generation. The music star expressed his displeasure over what he described as an unhealthy obsession with comparison and unnecessary pressure.

In a post shared via Instagram on Monday, the singer lamented how people now measure their lives based on what others are doing, whether it concerns class, maturity, or social status. According to him, this culture of constant comparison has led many people to live under pressure and lose focus on their own journey.

Paul Okoye noted that instead of focusing on growth and progress, people have turned life into a competition where they judge themselves against unrealistic standards. He stressed that the mentality is both toxic and destructive.

In his words: “I swear dis generation na madt people full am!! Haba!! Everything na comparison, class, level, maturity, bla bla bla… And na mumu go still listen to this poor mentality psychos, then come go put themselves under pressure. Like wtf!!!”

The singer’s statement quickly sparked conversations online, as many fans agreed with him, saying that social media has played a huge role in pushing people into unnecessary competition. Others noted that young people now value material wealth and appearances more than true happiness.

In another development, Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck stirred debate after making a controversial statement about the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Reacting to a recent wanted notice by the agency against luxury property developer Olasijibomi “Sujimoto” Ogundele, the rapper jokingly said it would be a dream come true if his own name ever appeared on an EFCC wanted flier.

Odumodublvck explained that he would see it as a personal achievement, even if it only lasted for a short time. He humorously wrote: “MY DREAM IS TO APPEAR HERE ONE DAY. SO I GO FIT COMMOT TALK ‘EFCC IF YOU LIKE GYM.’ EVEN IF NA FOR 1 WEEK. ABEG MAKE UNA COME HOL ME.”

Both Paul Okoye’s concerns and Odumodublvck’s comments highlight the growing influence of social pressure and attention-seeking behavior in today’s society. While one artist is warning against the dangers of unhealthy comparison, another is joking about controversial recognition, showing the extremes of how fame and public opinion shape this generation.
