Orezi Reveals Why He Stepped Back from Music Spotlight

Afrobeats singer Orezi has opened up about why he faded from the spotlight in the Nigerian music industry. Known for hit songs like Ogede, the artist admitted that his drop in visibility was due to a lack of ambition and becoming too comfortable with success.

Speaking on Hip TV’s show Trending, Orezi explained that taking himself out of the competitive race in the industry played a major role in slowing down his career. He said he got too relaxed and stopped chasing the same goals that once drove him to fame.

“I faded out because I became less ambitious and started enjoying the comfort of where I was,” he said. “I was always going on vacations, just enjoying life. At that point, I removed myself from the competition.”

Orezi stressed that staying consistent is very important in the entertainment world. He pointed out that even big stars like Davido still work extremely hard, as if they are new to the scene.

“Look at Davido,” Orezi said. “He already has money and fame, but he still works like he’s just starting out. That hustling spirit is what keeps him going. Competition helps people stay focused and consistent.”

He admitted that watching others stay driven reminded him of what he used to do when he was more active in the industry. According to him, the hunger to remain relevant is what separates those who last from those who fade away.

Orezi’s honest reflection serves as a reminder that no matter how talented an artist may be, ambition and consistency are key to lasting success.

His fans are hopeful that this new level of self-awareness could signal a strong return to music, and possibly a new chapter in his career.
