Omoni Oboli Urges Women to Marry Supportive and Kind Partners
Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli has offered a heartfelt warning to young women, especially those in the entertainment industry, about the dangers of marrying unsupportive men.
In an interview with Instablog9ja, the star, who has been happily married to her husband Nnamdi Oboli, for over two decades, stressed the importance of emotional support and kindness in marriage, beyond material wealth or lavish gifts.
When asked what advice she would give to a young actress thinking of settling down, Oboli replied:
“The first thing I would say is ‘marry someone who believes in your dreams and your goals,’ because if you don’t, that would really derail you in terms of your career.”
Her words resonated strongly with many women, especially those in competitive or demanding fields like acting. She pointed out that a lack of support at home can lead to emotional setbacks and career struggles.
Oboli further emphasized that kindness is more important than flashy lifestyles:
“It’s not about how much money a man has or how many gifts he’s giving you or the trips he’s taking you on. Is he a kind person?”
She added that many women overlook this simple trait and end up suffering later in life. According to Oboli, kindness and support are two things women must prioritise when choosing a life partner.
“If he’s not kind, you’re really going to suffer later. So, you have to be very sure that the man is going to support your dreams and goals. Make sure he is kind, and if you get these two things right, everything else will fall in place.”
The actress also shared a word of caution for new mothers, urging them to be more vigilant about their children’s exposure to the internet. She warned against giving devices to kids too early, stressing that the online space can be a dangerous environment.
Her message continues to spark positive reactions, especially among fans who admire her lasting marriage and career balance.
