NSIA to Host 15 African Sovereign Wealth Funds at Major Investment Forum in 2025

The Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) is set to host over 15 African sovereign wealth funds and top global investors at the Africa Sovereign Investors Forum (ASIF) 2025, which will take place in June in Abuja.

According to a statement released by Joyce Onyegbula, NSIA’s Head of Corporate Communications, the two-day event will be held under the theme “Leveraging African Sovereign Wealth Funds to Mobilise Global Capital for Transformative Development in Africa.” The forum aims to position Africa’s sovereign wealth funds as key tools for attracting large-scale investments that will support sustainable development across the continent.

“This meeting comes at a critical time where Africa must act boldly and work together to unlock global capital for inclusive and long-term development,” said NSIA Managing Director and CEO, Aminu Umar-Sadiq. “Through joint efforts, African sovereign wealth funds can spark major economic growth and lasting prosperity.”

The forum will bring together key decision-makers, including CEOs of sovereign wealth funds, institutional investors, government ministers, and leaders from development finance institutions. Discussions will focus on investment opportunities in strategic sectors such as infrastructure, energy, healthcare, and technology.

Confirmed speakers include Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, Minister of Trade, Jumoke Oduwole, President of Afreximbank, Prof Benedict Oramah, President of Africa Finance Corporation, Samaila Zubairu, and Liu Haoling from China Investment Corporation.

Obaid Amrane, Chair of ASIF and CEO of Morocco’s Ithmar Capital, also highlighted the importance of the event. “ASIF shows Africa’s strength in shaping its own future. This platform connects global investors with African sovereign funds to unlock vital capital for the continent’s sustainable development.”

Organized by NSIA, the summit will feature panel discussions, fireside chats, and networking events designed to encourage collaboration between African and international financial stakeholders. The goal is to raise Africa’s influence in the global investment space and form lasting partnerships for development financing.

NSIA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Nigeria and Africa’s growth through investment-led initiatives, adding that the ASIF 2025 is a step forward in driving capital towards transformational projects across the region.
