Nigerian Lady Sets 3rd Guinness World Record with ‘Wildest Wig’

Nigerian lady Helen Williams has once again made headlines by setting a Guinness World Record for creating the ‘wildest wig.’ The Guinness World Records (GWR) revealed this achievement on Monday, celebrating Williams for her remarkable feat.

According to the GWR, Williams crafted a hairpiece that measures an impressive 3.65 meters (11 feet 11 inches) wide, extending all the way to the floor. This width is equivalent to the length of a Mini Cooper car, which is approximately 3.63 meters (11 feet 10 inches) long.

Williams dedicated over a month to creating her latest record-breaking creation, utilizing more than 800 bundles of auburn hair. The materials alone cost 4,138,200 Naira ($2,719; £2,150). Despite the challenging task, Williams predominantly crafted the wide wig by hand, using a sewing machine for certain parts of the process.

Expressing her pride in her accomplishment, the 31-year-old stated, “I am very proud of myself. I now hold three records. As a professional wig maker, I look forward to breaking many more records in the wig category. I enjoy taking on difficult tasks; it makes me a better person, and I learn new things.”

Williams drew inspiration from actress and talk show host Drew Barrymore, a former record holder in a similar category. “I am a big fan of Drew Barrymore; she also inspired me,” Williams revealed.

This latest achievement adds to Williams’ growing list of Guinness World Records. She previously set records for inserting 90 hair clips into a wig in just 30 seconds and creating the longest handmade wig.
