Mr Real Criticizes Artists for Releasing Music Amid Nigeria’s Security Crisis
Nigerian Afrobeats singer Mr Real has criticized fellow musicians and music fans for continuing with normal entertainment activities despite the rising insecurity in Nigeria.
In a recent video shared online, the Legbegbe crooner expressed concern about the current situation in the country, saying it has affected his ability to release new music. According to him, the constant reports of violence and insecurity have made it difficult for him to focus on his career.
Mr. Real said he wakes up daily to disturbing news, which makes him question how other artists are still releasing songs and promoting them. He admitted that he finds it hard to understand the mindset of musicians who continue with their projects as if nothing is happening.
He also pointed out that while many Nigerians are facing serious challenges, some people still go to clubs and live normally. He described the situation as unusual, suggesting that people may be ignoring the reality of what is happening in the country.
According to him, insecurity has become a serious issue, with some individuals allegedly turning it into a business. He stressed that the situation should not be treated as normal, especially as lives continue to be affected.
Although he acknowledged that everyone has the right to live their life and find happiness, he questioned whether it is right to continue celebrating while the country faces serious problems. He said it feels like people have become used to difficult situations without reacting.
Mr. Real’s comments have sparked conversations online, with some people agreeing that artists should be more sensitive to national issues, while others believe entertainment should continue as a form of escape during tough times.
The debate highlights the ongoing tension between entertainment and social responsibility in Nigeria, as artists and fans continue to navigate life amid growing security concerns.
