Lojay Opens Up About Friendship with Folasade Adeleke Amid Romance Rumours
Afrobeats singer Lojay has finally spoken about his relationship with Folasade Adeleke, daughter of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and cousin to superstar Davido, clearing the air on long-standing romance rumours.
In a recent interview, Lojay described Folasade as his “best friend” and insisted that there is nothing romantic between them. Their bond, he said, is purely platonic and built on mutual respect and support.
The singer explained that he met Folasade through Davido’s 30BG crew and they instantly connected. Being the only woman in the crew, Lojay praised her for “holding it down for everybody” and noted that their friendship has remained strong since the first day they met.
Rumours about the pair have circulated for months, especially with Folasade’s ties to the Adeleke family and the music scene. However, Lojay dismissed the speculation, stressing that people often misinterpret genuine friendships between men and women.
“Fola is literally my best friend. From the very first day I met her, I just knew she was different,” he said. “Since then, we’ve just clicked and have been good friends ever since.”
Lojay also revealed that he is not ready for a romantic relationship at this stage in his life. According to him, he is still focused on healing from past experiences and prioritizing personal growth. “Some people assume that means you’re playing around, but that’s not true. Sometimes, people just need time to heal,” he added.
