Kizz Daniel Drops New EP Lemon Chase with Star-Studded Collaborations
Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Kizz Daniel, whose real name is Daniel Anidugbe, has released a new EP titled Lemon Chase. The seven-track project offers fans a deep and personal look into his music ahead of his upcoming album Uncle K.
Christian Agadibe, CEO of Artmatazz Media — Kizz Daniel’s media company — shared insights about the EP in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu. He described Lemon Chase as more than just a teaser, but a collection of songs capturing themes of love, loss, peace, and joy that listeners can connect with.
The EP opens with the track Black Girl Magic and closes with Police, featuring guest appearances by Johnny Drille from Mavin Records and five-time Grammy winner Angelique Kidjo. Kizz Daniel also collaborates with popular artists Bella Shmurda, Odumodu Blvck, Zlatan, and Fola, who previously worked with him on the hit single Lost. Their unique styles bring emotion and energy, creating a rich and dynamic sound throughout the EP.
Production on the project includes top producers such as Reward Beatz, Blaise Beatz, Magic Sticks, Bando, and Ayzed, all known for their work with Kizz Daniel on chart-topping hits. For example, Reward Beatz produced Eyo and Black Girl Magic alongside Bando and Blaise Beatz, while Magic Sticks led the production of Titi with co-producers Reward Beatz and Blaise Beatz. Ayzed produced Al Jannah, adding his special touch to the EP.
Kizz Daniel shared his inspiration behind the project, saying, “When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade out of it. I wanted this project to feel like real life — sweet, sour, confusing, beautiful. This is music for your heart, for when you’re healing, hoping, or remembering. I just wanted it to be honest, authentic, and true to self.”
According to Agadibe, Lemon Chase shows Kizz Daniel’s growth as not only a hitmaker but a storyteller unafraid to explore deeper emotions. The EP sets the stage for the upcoming album Uncle K and reaffirms why Kizz Daniel remains a major name in Afrobeats.
