Jaywon Says Being Friends with Davido Doesn’t Make Him Wizkid’s Enemy
Nigerian Afrobeats singer Jaywon has spoken out to clear the air about rumours that he has picked a side in the ongoing tension between two of Nigeria’s biggest stars, Wizkid and Davido. In a recent video shared on his TikTok page, Jaywon expressed shock over claims that his friendship with Davido means he is automatically an enemy of Wizkid.
The “This Year” crooner firmly denied the idea that showing support to one artist means hating another. Speaking with frustration in the clip, Jaywon said:
“So because I’m close to Davido, that has automatically made me an enemy of Wizkid? Please make it make sense. Make me understand this. I don’t get it.”
Jaywon’s comments come at a time when fans of both Wizkid and Davido continue to fuel rivalry online. Their fan bases have often clashed, trading subtle insults and stirring drama whenever either artist trends.
Despite the ongoing tension between the two Afrobeats giants, Jaywon made it clear that he wants no part in their feud. He said he prefers to focus on his music and build good relationships within the industry. Jaywon also reminded fans that liking one artist doesn’t mean you must dislike another.
Over the years, Jaywon has worked with many big names in the Nigerian music scene and has built a reputation for staying out of unnecessary drama. His recent message seems to be a call for fans to be more mature and not drag others into celebrity disagreements.
Wizkid (Ayodeji Balogun) and Davido (David Adeleke) have had a long and public rivalry, often marked by online jabs, competition, and moments of peace. Both artists started their rise to fame around the same time, leading to constant comparisons and heated fan debates over who is the bigger star.
While there have been times when Wizkid and Davido seemed to get along, their relationship has always remained complicated. Still, many fans continue to hope for real unity between them in the future.
Meanwhile, in another piece of entertainment news, gospel singer Tim Godfrey surprised his son Bryan with a brand-new car for his 17th birthday. The singer praised his son on Instagram for being humble, respectful, and never asking for too much.
