Imisi Opens Up About Shock of Winning Big Brother Naija Season 10
Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, has opened up about how shocked she was to be announced as the winner of the just-concluded edition of the reality show.
Speaking in an interview with Arise TV, Imisi revealed that her victory came as a complete surprise. According to her, she never expected to win and wasn’t even properly dressed for the announcement when she stepped on stage on Sunday night.
Imisi said she had prepared herself for any outcome but was deeply emotional when her name was called as the winner. She admitted that she battled serious anxiety moments before the final announcement, describing the tension backstage as “almost unbearable.”
“Winning the reality show was shocking to me. Sincerely, I was not expecting to win,” she said. “Before I got to the stage, I was already tensed just hearing the crowd chant my name. I was shocked when I was announced the winner. I even wore crocs to the stage because I am not comfortable in heels. I didn’t plan for the live show at all.”
Imisi went on to thank her fans and supporters for believing in her, saying her victory is proof that “grace truly speaks louder than effort.” She credited her success to divine favour and the love of her fan base, whom she fondly refers to as her “angels.”
The 23-year-old reality star emerged as the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 10, defeating her closest rival, Dede, by a wide margin. Her victory made her one of the youngest housemates to ever win the show.
Imisi officially received her grand prize of ₦150 million on Tuesday, which includes ₦80 million in cash and a brand-new Innoson SUV. Her win has been celebrated widely by fans, celebrities, and fellow housemates, marking a new chapter in her entertainment career.
