Everton Eyes Moses Simon in €15m Summer Move

Nigerian international Moses Simon is on Everton’s radar as the Premier League side prepares for a major squad rebuild ahead of the 2025 summer transfer window. Reports from Africafoot and PUNCH Sports Extra confirm that Everton has sent scouts to monitor the 29-year-old winger at his current club, FC Nantes.

Simon, who has earned 72 caps and scored 9 goals for Nigeria, is enjoying an impressive 2024/25 season. So far, he has registered 7 goals and 9 assists in 27 appearances across all competitions, making him one of Nantes’ top performers. This form has not gone unnoticed by Everton, who are currently 13th in the Premier League and looking to refresh their attacking options.

Having joined Nantes from Levante in 2020 for €6.5 million, Simon signed a contract extension last year that ties him to the French club until June 2026. However, he appears open to a move, as reports indicate he has instructed his agent to facilitate a switch to the English Premier League.

Why is Everton interested in Moses Simon?
Everton’s interest in Simon is due to his pace, creativity, and consistency on the wing — qualities that have been missing in the team’s forward line. As the club prepares to strengthen for the next season, Simon fits the profile of an experienced, high-impact player who could boost their attack.

Sources say Nantes will not block the move but are expected to demand at least €15 million to let the Super Eagles star leave — a fee slightly above his current €12 million market value.

As the transfer window approaches, Moses Simon could become one of the hot names to watch, especially as he looks to take on a fresh challenge in one of the world’s most competitive leagues.
