Erigga Says Blaqbonez and Odumodublvck’s Feud Is Hurting Hip-Hop Culture

Popular Nigerian rapper Erigga has shared his thoughts on the ongoing clash between fellow rappers Blaqbonez and Odumodublvck, expressing concern that the feud is doing more harm than good to Nigeria’s hip-hop culture.

In a recent interview with Yanga FM Lagos, the Paper Boi crooner explained that the dispute has created unnecessary tension within the rap community, forcing other artists to take sides instead of focusing on their craft.

Erigga also blamed fans for adding fuel to the fire, noting that many enjoy watching artists fight rather than supporting peace and unity in the industry. “Nigerian fans love it when rappers fight. The ongoing beef between Odumodublvck and Blaqbonez is bad for the culture because it allows outsiders who don’t really care about hip-hop to throw in their wild opinions,” he said.

He pointed out that while rivalry is part of hip-hop’s global tradition, constant feuds bring no lasting benefit to the music scene. According to him, “Beef might attract attention, but it doesn’t help the culture grow. Both Odumodublvck and Blaqbonez are my close colleagues, so the atmosphere feels very tense right now. People are hyping their fight not because they love hip-hop, but because they love drama. When last did anyone celebrate real hip-hop achievements?”

Erigga stressed that healthy competition can inspire creativity, but prolonged disputes only damage the image and unity of Nigerian hip-hop. He urged both rappers and their fans to focus more on collaboration and promoting the art form rather than conflict.
