Edo Education Ministry Partners with Chinese University to Boost Innovation and Global Learning

The Edo State Ministry of Education has taken a major step toward educational growth and global cooperation by signing a partnership between Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, and Fujian Jiangxia University, China. This agreement aims to strengthen research, student and faculty exchanges, engineering, electronics, and technological development, marking a new era of academic excellence for Edo State.

Led by His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and coordinated by Dr. Emmanuel Paddy Iyamu, the partnership underscores Edo State’s commitment to transforming its education sector in alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Speaking in China after the signing ceremony, Dr. Iyamu said the collaboration will prepare Edo youths with global skills and exposure, enabling them to succeed anywhere in the world. “Education is the foundation of progress,” he said. “By connecting our institutions with international centres of excellence like Fujian University, we are equipping our young people for the future through advanced learning and innovation.”

Students and lecturers from both universities will benefit from exchange programmes that encourage knowledge sharing, innovation, and mutual growth.

Edo State is fast emerging as a leader in education reform, setting a strong example for other states in Nigeria. Under the leadership of Senator Okpebholo and Dr. Iyamu, the state is building a system where education meets innovation, and learning directly contributes to development.

The initiative reflects Edo’s ongoing transformation from theory-based education to practical, results-oriented learning that drives technological and economic progress across Nigeria.
