DeeOne Opens Up on Past Relationship With Veekee James, Alleges Control Issues
Nigerian comedian and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Aderombi Adedayo, popularly known as DeeOne, has revealed that popular fashion designer Veekee James was once his girlfriend. He made this known while reacting to comments Veekee recently made about him during a podcast interview.
Veekee James had earlier said that DeeOne should not be taken seriously, adding that anyone who takes him seriously must be jobless. Her statement quickly sparked reactions online, with many fans discussing the past connection between the two entertainers.
In response, DeeOne shared a video on Instagram where he calmly addressed the issue and confirmed that he and Veekee James were once in a relationship. According to him, they dated shortly after he left the Big Brother Naija house in 2018, but the relationship ended a long time ago.
The comedian explained that there is no bad blood between them and that he has completely moved on. He advised fans not to take celebrity disagreements too personally, noting that people often do not know the full story behind public comments.
DeeOne stated that one of the major reasons their relationship did not work was because he does not like being controlled. He claimed that some of Veekee’s demands made him uncomfortable, as he felt they went beyond what he expected in a romantic relationship.
Using examples, DeeOne said there were moments when he felt more like a personal assistant than a boyfriend, which he did not find acceptable. He stressed that this does not mean Veekee is a bad person, but that they were simply not compatible.
Despite everything, DeeOne wished Veekee James and her husband well. He made it clear that he holds no grudges and is happy with where his life is now. He also apologized in case he unknowingly offended her in the past.
He ended by reminding fans that the entertainment industry has many unseen sides and urged people not to believe every negative statement they hear online, stressing that, from his side, there is only love and peace.
