Davido Slams Actress Sarah Martins Over Chioma Comments on Restaurant Post
Afrobeats star Davido has fired back at Nollywood actress Sarah Martins after she suggested that a new restaurant should have been named after his wife, Chioma, instead of being tied to his music. The heated exchange began on May 26, 2025, when Sarah posted on Instagram, sharing her opinion on the promotional campaign Davido did with a food brand.
In her post, Sarah wrote, “This is coming from a place of LOVE because I am a huge fan of OBO. I honestly feel Davido’s restaurant should have been opened for Chioma or probably in her name because we’ve always known her to be a passionate, fantastic chef.”
She went further to say she had always looked forward to Davido celebrating Chioma with her own restaurant, adding, “Again, this is not coming from a place of hate and I’m happy for them regardless of who owns the restaurant.”
However, Davido did not take her comment lightly and wasted no time responding directly in her comment section. He wrote:
“U no get sense… no restaurant was opened that was a promotional campaign with @foodcourt_app for my album … now take my wife’s picture off page.”
The singer’s response quickly went viral, with many fans supporting his stance and praising him for defending his wife. Social media users called out Sarah for making what they believed was an unnecessary statement about a private family matter.
Reactions online have been mixed, with some accusing the actress of using Chioma’s name to gain attention, while others defended her message as simply a fan’s suggestion. Still, Davido’s firm response has made it clear he wants no unsolicited commentary involving his wife.
As Davido continues to promote his album 5ive, the incident serves as a reminder of how personal branding and public relationships often collide in the world of celebrities.
