Davido Fan Club Launched in US to Promote His Global Influence
A new international fan club has been launched in the United States to support Afrobeats superstar Davido, marking a fresh chapter in his global influence. The group, known as Davido Supporters Group International (DSGI), was officially established in Boston, Massachusetts, on March 24, 2026.
The initiative was founded by Ambassador Chukwudi Chuck Eke, who explained that the fan club aims to promote Davido’s legacy, music, and impact on global entertainment. According to him, the platform will also support Davido’s manager Asa Asika, his record label Davido Music Worldwide, and the wider 30BG fan network.
Speaking to the media, Eke described the purpose of the fan club as promoting Davido’s role in taking Nigerian culture to the global stage. He praised the singer’s influence in shaping Afrobeats and his ability to connect people across different backgrounds through music and lifestyle.
Eke also clarified that DSGI is not limited to the United States. He said the fan club is designed as a global network, with members spread across countries, cities, and communities worldwide. The goal is to create a strong international support system that goes beyond social media engagement.
The founder, who is a Peace Ambassador with the International Association of Peace Advocates, highlighted Davido’s contributions to unity and social development. He noted that the singer’s music and philanthropy promote peace and bring people together, especially among Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.
According to Eke, his admiration for Davido dates back to 2016 when he observed the artist’s resilience and determination in building his career. He praised Davido’s entrepreneurial mindset and his commitment to supporting others in the music industry, rather than relying solely on his family’s wealth.
He further described Davido as a cultural ambassador who uses his platform to unite people and inspire young Nigerians. Eke emphasized that the singer’s “detribalised” lifestyle and inclusive approach make him a symbol of unity in a time when divisions are increasing.
On the timing of the fan club launch, Eke said it is meant to support Davido’s ongoing and upcoming projects, including his 2026 “5IVE Alive” tour and other international performances. He added that the group will actively promote the artiste’s shows, business ventures, and mentorship efforts.
Beyond the fan club, Eke revealed that he has also shown his admiration for Davido through his creative work. He disclosed that he named a character after the singer in his upcoming film titled Rainbow: Living Your Dream, which is expected to premiere soon.
In addition, he is currently working on a tribute book dedicated to Davido, aimed at celebrating his achievements and encouraging Nigerians to support his contributions to music and society.
Ambassador Chukwudi Eke, a graduate of Harvard University, currently serves as President of the US-based DAST Foundation Inc, a non-profit organisation focused on addressing drug abuse, addiction, and human trafficking both in the United States and globally.
The launch of DSGI highlights Davido’s growing global fan base and influence, reinforcing his position as one of Africa’s leading music exports and a key figure in the international rise of Afrobeats.
