Daniel Etim-Effiong Shares Why He Gave Up Womanizing

Nollywood actor Daniel Etim-Effiong has revealed that he once lived a lifestyle of womanising but decided to leave that phase behind after realising its long-term consequences. He made this confession during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, describing it as a “period of learning” that helped him grow into the man he is today.

While speaking about his younger years, Daniel admitted that he dated multiple women at the same time, a behavior he now recognises as harmful. He explained that although it may seem fun or popular at the time, the lifestyle lacks the depth and fulfillment many people seek later in life.

“Maybe there was a time in my life I was a womaniser,” he said. “Definitions differ, but maybe there was a period I explored. I wouldn’t say it lasted long, but yes, I went through it. I learned a lot, and that made it worthwhile in a way.”

The actor stressed that such habits don’t just disappear when one enters marriage. Instead, he warned young men not to develop patterns they wouldn’t want to carry into a serious relationship. He emphasized that commitment is a habit that must be built over time, not something that happens automatically after saying “I do.”

“I tell young people—it’s cool to be a player, but the danger is that you get used to it,” he said. “Then when it’s time to settle down, you expect to switch off that lifestyle like a light. But it doesn’t work that way. You’ll face problems in your marriage, and if you’ve never learned to commit or stay, you’ll want to run.”

Daniel warned that jumping from one relationship to another creates a mindset of avoidance rather than growth. “If you walk away easily when things get tough in dating, you’ll do the same in marriage,” he explained. “You won’t magically become someone who fights for the relationship.”

His message to fans and young people is clear: build habits now that match the kind of future you want. His words have sparked meaningful discussions about how celebrity experiences can offer guidance for real-life decisions.

Daniel Etim-Effiong is now known for his dedication to family, and many fans see his story as an inspiring example of growth, honesty, and the power of intentional change.
