Charly Boy Slams National Assembly Over Corruption and Scandals
Renowned entertainer and activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has taken a strong stance against Nigeria’s National Assembly and political leaders. He criticized the country’s leadership, calling out corruption, deceit, and impunity among lawmakers.
Expressing his frustration on Instagram, Charly Boy accused the National Assembly of being filled with individuals lacking integrity and commitment to the people. He did not stop there—he also condemned Supreme Court judges and law enforcement agencies, alleging that they support a broken system.
The controversy surrounding Senate President Godswill Akpabio and the suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan fueled his criticism. He referred to the National Assembly as a gathering of corrupt individuals, including drug traffickers and sexual predators.
Charly Boy wrote, “From the Presidency to the Supreme Court justices, law enforcement agencies, House of Representatives members, and ‘horny’ Senators, Nigeria is in a mess. It reminds me of my song ‘1990.’”
He further criticized the Senate, stating, “The National Assembly has the highest number of men without values or shame—nothing but deplorables. Just look at the Senate President’s sex scandal. Instead of punishing the guilty, victims are the ones suffering.”
He lamented that Nigeria is a country where criminals hold power, describing those in charge as “a congregation of crooks, drug peddlers, and sex predators.”
