Burna Boy Falls Ill Fans Concerned Over Grammy Winner’s Health
Nigerian Grammy Award-winning singer Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has sparked concern among fans and supporters after falling ill during his ongoing activities. Media personality Adesope Shopsydoo shared a short video on Instagram showing Burna Boy receiving medical attention while lying on a bed, prompting worries about the singer’s health.

Shopsydoo captioned the clip: “Burna Boy down with illness behind the scene, it is not easy at all, touring is hard. Speedy recovery to Burna.” Fans quickly responded with messages of support and prayers for the Afro-fusion star.
The illness comes after a recent performance incident, where Burna Boy asked a female fan to leave his show after noticing her sleeping during the concert. The event led to widespread criticism online, with some Nigerians in the U.S. calling for boycotts of his performances.
Following the controversy, his shows in Chicago and Minneapolis were cancelled due to low ticket sales. During a recent Dallas show, Burna Boy addressed the incident, apologizing to his fans and explaining its impact on his concerts. He stated: “I know my ticket sales are suffering since that incident. Even the coffee I introduced no one is buying. So please, I am sorry to everyone and everything I said. It was a slip of tongue.”
In response to the cancellations, Nigerian comedian I Go Save criticized those celebrating Burna Boy’s setbacks, likening their actions to witchcraft and emphasizing that God continues to bless people regardless of human negativity.
Fans have taken to social media to show support, wishing Burna Boy a speedy recovery and hoping for his return to full health. While his management has not provided details on the nature or duration of his illness, followers remain optimistic that the singer will soon resume his music and touring activities.
