Bolanle Ninalowo Warns Fans After $5,000 Romance Scam Allegation

Nollywood actor Bolanle Ninalowo has cautioned fans to be careful online after a woman accused him of defrauding her of $5,000 in a romance scam. The actor said the claims are false and blamed impersonators who use his name and pictures to deceive unsuspecting victims.

According to Ninalowo, he received an email from the woman who alleged that she had been in a relationship with him for more than two years. She claimed to have evidence, including receipts, emails, screenshots, and bank transactions, and even threatened to expose him to media outlets in Nigeria and the United States if he failed to respond.

In part of the email she sent, the woman accused the actor of being a “scam master” and said she was turning over her evidence to her attorney who specializes in international fraud. She further alleged that the money lost was enough to draw the attention of the FBI.

Reacting to the allegation, Ninalowo shared a screenshot of the email on his verified social media page. He clarified that he has never been involved in any romance scam and urged fans to avoid falling victim to fraudsters who impersonate him online.

The actor explained that once victims realize they have been duped, many of them begin searching for his real social media accounts and send him threats and accusations. He stressed that anyone currently in an online relationship with someone claiming to be him is being scammed.

In his words, Ninalowo stated: “If anyone is in or about to start an online relationship with one of the supposed me’s, you are being scammed or about to be scammed. Enough said.” He added warning emojis and emphasized that people should wake up to the tricks of online fraudsters.

He also reminded fans that he is only active on his verified social media pages and will never reach out privately for money or personal relationships online. His advice was clear — fans should protect themselves from fake accounts and report suspicious profiles immediately.

The incident has sparked renewed conversations about the rising cases of online impersonation targeting celebrities. Many fans expressed support for Ninalowo, urging social media platforms to take stronger action against fake accounts used for fraud.
