JAMB Urges 2026 UTME Candidates to Print Exam Slips as Exam Begins April 16

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has asked all candidates registered for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to begin printing their examination notification slips ahead of the start of the exam on April 16, 2026.

According to JAMB, the examination will run from April 16 to April 25, 2026, across various Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide. Over 2.2 million candidates are expected to participate in the exercise.

The board explained that the examination slips contain important details such as each candidate’s exam date, venue, time, and other instructions. Candidates are strongly advised to print their slips early and confirm their individual schedules to avoid confusion or last-minute issues.

JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin noted that the exam will be conducted over several days, making it necessary for candidates to carefully check their assigned schedules. He added that each candidate will be allocated a specific date and time to ensure proper organisation and screening at the centres.

To print the slip, candidates are required to visit the official JAMB portal and select the 2026 UTME slip printing option. They will need to input their registration number, email address, or phone number to access and print their exam details.

The board also warned candidates and CBT centres against examination malpractice. It stressed that stronger security measures have been introduced this year to monitor activities during both registration and examination.

JAMB further stated that all accredited CBT centres must ensure their surveillance cameras are fully functional and connected to the central monitoring system. Centres that fail to comply risk sanctions, including loss of accreditation and cancellation of candidate results linked to them.

The board added that real-time monitoring is now a key part of its system to detect irregularities and improve the credibility of the examination process. It also confirmed that some centres have already been delisted for failing to meet monitoring requirements.

JAMB emphasized that these reforms are part of ongoing efforts to reduce malpractice, improve efficiency, and ensure that students gain admission based on merit.

Candidates are therefore advised to complete their slip printing early, familiarise themselves with their exam centres, and strictly follow all guidelines ahead of the 2026 UTME.
