Asake Becomes Most Streamed Artist Ever on Spotify Nigeria

Nigerian music star Asake has reached a new milestone after being named the most-streamed artist of all time on Spotify Nigeria. The recognition came as the streaming platform marked five years of operating in the country, celebrating the artists and songs that have made the biggest impact since its launch.

The ranking shows Asake in the top spot, confirming his strong influence on Nigeria’s digital music space. Afrobeats superstar Wizkid follows in second place, while street-pop star Seyi Vibez takes third. Grammy winner Burna Boy comes in fourth, with hitmaker Davido completing the top five.

Spotify also revealed the most-streamed songs of all time in Nigeria, with Asake leading again. His song “Remember” secured the number one position, showing the wide appeal of his music among listeners across the country.

Other top songs include “Dealer” by Fireboy DML featuring Ayo Maff, and “Awolowo” by Fido. Wizkid’s “Kese” also made the list, while Asake’s popular track “Lonely At The Top” rounded out the top five.

Nigerian artists are not only dominating at home but also across Africa. In Kenya, “Asiwaju” by Ruger ranked number one, followed by “Rush” from Ayra Starr. Fireboy DML’s “Bandana” and songs by Kenyan singer Bein also featured strongly, with Asake’s “Lonely At The Top” appearing again.

In Ghana, Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck topped the chart with “Wotowoto Seasoning,” featuring Black Sherif. Asake placed second with “Lonely At The Top,” while Black Sherif dominated several other positions on the list.

These rankings highlight the growing global power of Nigerian music and the continued rise of Afrobeats across streaming platforms. Asake’s achievement shows how local sounds are reaching wider audiences and shaping music trends across the continent and beyond.
