Court Adjourns Odumodublvck Assault Case to April 8 Over Courtroom Renovation

The FCT High Court sitting in Life Camp, Abuja, has adjourned the alleged assault trial involving Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck, whose real name is Tochukwu Ojogwu, until April 8, 2026. The adjournment was due to ongoing renovation work in the courtroom, which made it impossible for proceedings to continue as scheduled.

Both parties were present in court, including counsel to the claimant, Uchenna Ojembe, and counsel to the defendant, Taiwo Akinsulie. Following discussions, the legal teams agreed on a new date that would be convenient for all sides to properly begin hearing the case.

The lawsuit was filed by fellow Nigerian musician Kraziecent, whose real name is Ogbogiri Okey Levi. He alleges that Odumodublvck assaulted and battered him during a public event in December 2024. According to the claim, Kraziecent said he was peacefully taking photos and videos when the incident occurred.

In the civil suit, the claimant accused the rapper of attacking him without provocation, causing emotional distress and physical harm. He also alleged that his iPhone 15 Pro Max was intentionally damaged during the altercation, adding to the losses he claims to have suffered.

As part of the reliefs sought, Kraziecent is asking the court to order Odumodublvck to cover his medical expenses related to treatment following the incident. He is also seeking N2 billion in damages for the alleged assault and its impact on his well-being and career.

Additionally, the claimant is requesting that the court compel the defendant to issue a public apology across his social media platforms and in at least two national newspapers. These demands form part of a broader attempt to seek redress through legal means.

Legal observers say the adjournment means the substantive hearing will begin in April, when both sides are expected to present evidence and arguments. The case has attracted attention within the entertainment industry, given the prominence of the artists involved.

Until the next hearing date, the court has not made any determination on the merits of the allegations, and the matter remains before the court for further proceedings.
