Wizkid Fires Back at 2Baba Over Burna Boy Ranking Comment
Nigerian Afrobeats star Wizkid has reacted strongly to comments made by veteran singer 2Baba, who recently stated that Burna Boy is currently ahead of him on the global music stage.
During an interview with journalist Seun Okinbaloye, 2Baba was asked about the long-running “Big 3” debate in Nigerian music. The term “Big 3” refers to Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy—three artistes widely recognised for their international success and influence in Afrobeats.
When asked who is presently leading among the trio worldwide, 2Baba said he believes Burna Boy holds the top spot globally. His comment quickly sparked reactions online, especially among fans of the three stars.
Wizkid did not stay silent. Taking to his Snapchat page, the Grammy-winning singer criticised 2Baba’s remark. In his response, Wizkid referred to the veteran musician as an “old man” and suggested he should focus on resolving personal family matters instead of weighing in on music rankings.
“I’m never letting it slack in 2026. At least make peace with your family first before having opinions about music. Old man,” Wizkid wrote.
