Asake Breaks Record with Most Billboard Afrobeats Songs

Nigerian singer Asake has strengthened his position as a leading Afrobeats artist by extending his record on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart to 60 entries.

The milestone was achieved with his latest collaboration with Wizkid, the track Jogodo, which reached number four on the chart this week. This achievement highlights Asake’s consistent presence in the global Afrobeats music scene and reflects the growing international popularity of Nigerian music.

South African singer Tyla continues to dominate the chart, holding the number one spot with her hit ‘Channel’. Meanwhile, Burna Boy also marked a major accomplishment by securing his first top-20 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 through a feature on Gunna’s track WGFT. This continues Burna Boy’s record as the first African artist to debut a song on the Billboard Hot 100 for five consecutive years, from 2021 to 2025.

Experts note that these milestones show the increasing dominance of African artists on international music charts. Collaborations between African stars and global artists are helping Afrobeats reach new audiences, driving cross-cultural recognition and commercial success.
